Each level of the IARB Certification is awarded upon successful completion of an examination. This examination is administered at the same location (in most cases) as the classroom learning. There is normally a 3-4 week break between the conclusion of the programme and the examination.

IARB CICPP certification is awarded upon completion of the Cards and Payments III examination with use of the designation CICPP.

The examination will consist of a combination of multi-choice, short-answer and essay questions.
